Our mission is save as many adoptable animals from the Cherokee County Animal Shelter as possible, through networking

with rescue groups, adoptions, and any other means available to reduce the deaths of this community's discarded, homeless and unwanted companion animals.  We have five working days to accomplish our goals.  South Carolina State law allows for animals to be destroyed at any animal shelter if no owner reclaims or rescue and adoption agency efforts fail at the end of this five day period.  We have limited facilities on our Humane Society property for housing of canines and felines until they travel to the rescue groups or fosters that commit to them.

We are proud to tell you that as of mid year 2015 we were saving 86% of the dogs that came into the Cherokee County

Animal Shelter and 100% of the non-feral cats.

We do not accept animals surrendered by the public.
